Lisa Angell

Lisa Angell is a filmmaker residing in Queens, New York. She recently directed her debut feature film, A Ramble Towards Rain, starring Tony Award Winner, Gregory Jbara, and Broadway stalwart, Sherie Rene Scott, which is set to be released within the next year. Aside from directing independently, Lisa has worked as an Assistant Editor on multiple HBO and Netflix docuseries. She is fascinated by philosophy and the quest for truth as well as the nuances of what it means to be human. Driven by these curiosities, Lisa continues to pursue projects that help her better understand the world. 

Lisa Fischer

Lisa Fischer is an NYC-based producer, editor and multimedia journalist. She is well-versed in a variety of storytelling methods including documentary video, writing, podcast, TV, and narrative. Her experience ranges from digital media brands (Jezebel, Vox, Insider, Byrdie, Brides, The Spruce, MyDomaine, Serious Eats, Southern Living, Better Homes & Gardens, Verywell Mind, MTV News, Great Big Story, Lonely Planet) to multi-platform news networks (CNN) to TV (Comedy Central). She has also worked on several independent film projects. She was the primary producer on Rent Control, a 25-minute short drama that is slated to have its festival premiere later this spring. She also recently assistant directed The Tower, a horror short directed by Fairfield University alum Ally Giannini, starring the popular comedian Krystyna Hutchinson.

David Nevins

David Nevins is an IATSE 700 Assistant Editor in Brooklyn NY, whose credits include City on a Hill (Showtime), The Sinner (USA/Netflix), and The Serpent Queen (Starz). He was most recently the Visual Effects Editor on World’s Best, coming to Disney Plus this summer. Before switching to Post-Production, he came up on set as a Production Assistant in the AD department for shows like Ramy (Hulu), The Irishman (Netflix), and The Avengers: Endgame (Disney Plus). His feature documentary “The Gaucho” (2017) has been screened in Boston and LA.

Outside of film, he has published poetry in some Long Island journals, co-wrote a play with the Boston Circus Guild, and studied creative writing at MIT.

As a Fairfield University New Media program alumni, he is thrilled to return and see the talent at this year’s Cinefest.
